Prayer
Bless the Lord, whose name is to be praised,
Our Father who art in heaven,
who has given us his laws,
to show us the error of our ways,
Blessed is his son, Christ the Messiah,
who redeemed us from having broken them.
Blessed are you, O Holy Spirit,
who assists us in sinning no more,
and sustains us in the way of the Lord,
grant us wisdom and understanding this day.
Amen.
Old Testament Reading - A sure foundation
14Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you scoffing rulers in Jerusalem:
15You have struck a bargain with death, you say, and sold yourselves to the devila in exchange for his protection against the Assyrians. “They can never touch us,” you say, “for we are under the care of one who will deceive and fool them.”
16But the Lord God says, “See, I am placing a Foundation Stone in Zion — a firm, tested, precious Cornerstone that is safe to build on. He who believes need never run away again. 17I will take the line and plummet of justice to check the foundation wall you built; it looks so fine, but it is so weak a storm of hail will knock it down! The enemy will come like a flood and sweep it away, and you will be drowned. 18I will cancel your agreement of compromise with death and the devil, so when the terrible enemy floods in, you will be trampled into the ground.
. . . . .Isaiah 28:14-18- Literally, “with Sheol,” “the underworld.”

Please remember our Prayer Requests
We pray for all people in their daily life and work;
For our families, friends, and neighbours
and for those who are alone.
For this community,
the nation,
and the world;
For all who work for justice, freedom, and peace.
Hear us, Lord;
For your mercy is great.
Amen.
