Faithful and everlasting God,
you gave your servant Polycarp
boldness to confess Jesus as his Lord and Saviour
and courage to die for his faith;
give us grace to share the cup of Christ
and in all our trials to praise your name;
through Jesus Christ our Redeemer.
Amen.

Prayer

Our Father,
your kingdom come
on earth as in heaven.
Holy and everliving God,
by your power we are created
and by your love we are redeemed;
guide and strengthen us by your Spirit,
that we may give ourselves to your service
and live this day in love to one another and to you;
through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Amen.
