Collect

Almighty and everliving God,
in your tender love towards us
you sent your Son to take our nature upon him,
and to suffer death upon the cross;
grant that we may follow the example
of his great humility
and share in his glorious resurrection;
through Jesus Christ our Lord . . .
Amen.

New Testament Reading - Building up in faith

thumb

1-2Even if we believe that it makes no difference to the Lord whether we do these things, still we cannot just go ahead and do them to please ourselves; for we must bear the “burden” of being considerate of the doubts and fears of others—of those who feel these things are wrong. Let’s please the other fellow, not ourselves, and do what is for his good and thus build him up in the Lord. 3Christ didn’t please himself. As the Psalmist said, “He came for the very purpose of suffering under the insults of those who were against the Lord.” 4These things that were written in the Scriptures so long ago are to teach us patience and to encourage us so that we will look forward expectantly to the time when God will conquer sin and death.

5May God who gives patience, steadiness, and encouragement help you to live in complete harmony with each other—each with the attitude of Christ toward the other. 6And then all of us can praise the Lord together with one voice, giving glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanksgiving

Thank Him for 3 things that happened today (Good or Not!)

Dear God,
We believe in you,
     but may we come to see that You the Almighty God and Father believes in us,
May our faith in Jesus Christ, your Son grow,
But may we come to see that Jesus has faith that we can be like Him,
A person of love and compassion and truth.
A person of forgiveness, and peace, and grace, and joy, and hope.

And may we be covered in the dust of our Rabbi, JESUS!
Amen.

The Blessing

May God our Redeemer show us compassion and love.
Amen
