Kings lord it over their subjects,
but with us the highest must be like the lowest,
the chief like a servant.
Come to Jesus, all those whose work is hard,
whose load is heavy,
and you will be renewed.
Gospel Reading - Jesus at the Festival of Tabernacles
2 But soon it was time for the Tabernacle Ceremonies, one of the annual Jewish holidays, 3and Jesus’ brothers urged him to go to Judea for the celebration.
14Then, midway through the festival, Jesus went up to the Temple and preached openly. 15The Jewish leaders were surprised when they heard him. “How can he know so much when he’s never been to our schools?” they asked.
16So Jesus told them, “I’m not teaching you my own thoughts, but those of God who sent me.

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
