Epistle Reflection
Blessèd are the peacemakers:
for they shall be called God’s children.
Blessèd are those who have suffered persecution
for the cause of right:
for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
New Testament Reading - 7 Angels, 7 Plagues
1And I saw in heaven another mighty pageant showing things to come: Seven angels were assigned to carry down to earth the seven last plagues — and then at last God’s anger will be finished.
2Spread out before me was what seemed to be an ocean of fire and glass, and on it stood all those who had been victorious over the Evil Creature and his statue and his mark and number. All were holding harps of God, 3-4and they were singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb:
“Great and marvelous
Are your doings,
Lord God Almighty.
Just and true
Are your ways,
O King of Ages.[a]
Who shall not fear,
O Lord,
And glorify your Name,
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
And worship before you,
For your righteous deeds
Have been disclosed.”
- O King of Ages. Some manuscripts read, “King of the Nations.”
Intercession
Pray for 3 people on your heart ending with the prayer below.
Remember, O Lord, your compassion and love,
for they are from everlasting.
Lord, have mercy. E te Ariki, kia aroha mai.
Let the sorrowful sighing of the prisoners come before you;
and by your great might,
spare those who are condemned to die.
Christ, have mercy. E te Karaiti, kia aroha mai.
Lord, give strength to your people,
and give us your blessing of peace.
Lord, have mercy. E te Ariki, kia aroha mai.
Amen.
