Bless the Lord, whose name is to be praised,
Our Father who art in heaven,
who has given us his laws,
to show us the error of our ways,
Blessed is his son, Christ the Messiah,
who redeemed us from having broken them.
Blessed are you, O Holy Spirit,
who assists us in sinning no more,
and sustains us in the way of the Lord,
grant us wisdom and understanding this day.
Old Testament Reading - Give freely to the Needy
7“But if, when you arrive in the land the Lord will give you, there are any among you who are poor, you must not shut your heart or hand against them; 8you must lend them as much as they need. 9Beware! Don’t refuse a loan because the year of debt cancellation is close at hand! If you refuse to make the loan and the needy man cries out to the Lord, it will be counted against you as a sin. 10You must lend him what he needs, and don’t moan about it either! For the Lord will prosper you in everything you do because of this! 11There will always be some among you who are poor; that is why this commandment is necessary. You must lend to them liberally.. . . . .Deuteronomy 15:7-11
Please remember our Prayer Requests
We pray for all people in their daily life and work;
For our families, friends, and neighbours
and for those who are alone.
For this community,
and the world;
For all who work for justice, freedom, and peace.
Hear us, Lord;
For your mercy is great.
