Gospel Reflection

We cannot serve God and money;
we cannot be slave to two masters.

So we shall enter by the narrow gate.
The gate is wide that leads to perdition, and many go that way.
But the gate to life is small, the road is narrow,
and those who find it are few.

With us it is impossible, but not for God.
Only God can save us.

Gospel Reading - Salt and Light

13 "You are the world's seasoning to make it tolerable. If you lose your flavour what will happen to the world? And you yourselves will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. 14 You are the world's light - a city on a hill, glowing in the night for all to see. 15,16 Don't hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.

. . . Matthew 5:13-16

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
     hallowed be your name,
     your kingdom come,
     your will be done,
          on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
     and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
     now and for ever.
