Collect

Gracious God,
you inspired your servant Gregory of Nazianzus
to witness to the truth of the gospel;
grant that we may continue steadfast
in our confession of the faith
and constant in our worship of you,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

Prayer

Our Father,
save us from the time of trial,
and deliver us from evil.
Almighty God,
you see that we have no power of ourselves
to help ourselves;
keep us both outwardly in our bodies
and inwardly in our souls,
that we may be defended from all adversities
which may happen to the body,
and from all evil thoughts
which may assault and hurt the soul.
