Gospel Reflection
Almighty God,
govern the hearts and minds of those in authority
and mercifully grant that the peoples of the world,
divided and torn apart by sin,
may be brought together
under the gentle rule of Christ.
Amen.
Gospel Reading - Receive those sent by Christ
16How true it is that a servant is not greater than his master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends him. 17You know these things — now do them! That is the path of blessing.
18“I am not saying these things to all of you; I know so well each one of you I chose. The Scripture declares, ‘One who eats supper with me will betray me,’ and this will soon come true. 19I tell you this now so that when it happens, you will believe on me.
20“Truly, anyone welcoming my messenger is welcoming me. And to welcome me is to welcome the Father who sent me.”
. . . . .John 13:16-20The Lord's Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
