Merciful God,
for love of you
Rose of Lima took up the cross and embraced suffering;
may we learn from her
to regard material possessions lightly
and to show the radiance of your love to all we meet;
for the sake of Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Prayer
Our Father,
save us from the time of trial,
and deliver us from evil.
O God,
the well-spring of life,
pour into our hearts the living water of your grace,
that refreshed by you,
we may live this day in steadfast reliance
on the strength you give;
through our Saviour Jesus Christ.
