Prayer
Blessèd are you, Sovereign God, ruler of the nations,
to you be glory and praise for ever!
From the rising of the sun to its setting
your name is proclaimed in all the world.
As the Sun of Righteousness dawns in our hearts,
anoint our lips with the seal of your Spirit
that we may witness to your gospel
and sing your praise in all the world,
Creator, Redeemer, and Giver of Life:
Blessèd be God for ever!
Amen.
Old Testament Reading - To whom I send you, you shall go
4The Lord said to me, 5“I knew you before you were formed within your mother’s womb; before you were born I sanctified you and appointed you as my spokesman to the world.”
6“O Lord God,” I said, “I can’t do that! I’m far too young! I’m only a youth!”
7“Don’t say that,” he replied, “for you will go wherever I send you and speak whatever I tell you to. 8And don’t be afraid of the people, for I, the Lord, will be with you and see you through.”
9Then he touched my mouth and said, “See, I have put my words in your mouth!
. . . . .Jeremiah 1:4-9O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness,
Let the whole earth stand in awe of God.
