Collect
Blessed are you holy God
in Brigid, abbess of Kildare,
who in her time
kept alive the church’s prayer;
may we in our time do the same.
Amen.
New Testament Reading - Pure and faultless religion
22And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. So don’t fool yourselves. 23 For if a person just listens and doesn’t obey, he is like a man looking at his face in a mirror; 24as soon as he walks away, he can’t see himself anymore or remember what he looks like. 25But if anyone keeps looking steadily into God’s law for free men, he will not only remember it but he will do what it says, and God will greatly bless him in everything he does.
26Anyone who says he is a Christian but doesn’t control his sharp tongue is just fooling himself, and his religion isn’t worth much. 27The Christian who is pure and without fault, from God the Father’s point of view, is the one who takes care of orphans and widows, and who remains true to the Lord — not soiled and dirtied by his contacts with the world.

Thank Him for 3 things that happened today (Good or Not!)
Prayer
Our Father,
save us from the time of trial,
and deliver us from evil.
Giver of the present, hope for the future:
save us from the time of trial.
When prophets warn us of doom,
of catastrophe and of suffering beyond belief,
then, God, free us from our helplessness,
and deliver us from evil.
Save us from our arrogance and folly,
for you are God who created the world;
you have redeemed us and you are our salvation.
Amen
The Blessing
May Christ the Son of God, gladden our hearts
with the good news of God’s Kingdom.
Amen
Let us bless the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
