O Lord, open our lips;
And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
Opening Sentance
God ever reigns on high.
O come, let us worship.
Psalm 18:17-29
- You delivered me from my powerful enemy,
and from those who hated me:
because they were too strong for me. - They came upon me in the day of my calamity:
but you were my upholder O Lord. - You brought me out into a place of liberty:
you rescued me because you delighted in me. - You rewarded me for my righteous dealing:
you recompensed me because my hands were clean. - For I have kept your ways O Lord:
and have not wickedly forsaken my God. - All your laws are before my eyes:
and your commandments I have not put away from me. - I was also blameless before you:
and I kept myself from wickedness. - So you rewarded me for my righteous dealing:
because my hands were clean in your sight. - With the faithful you show yourself faithful:
with the upright you show yourself upright. - With the pure you show yourself pure:
but with the crafty ones you are crafty. - For you will deliver a humble people:
but you will bring down the high looks of the proud. - You light my lamp O Lord my God:
you turn my darkness into light. - With you I can crush a troop:
with the help of my God I can leap over a wall.
Morning Prayer
God of mercy and love,
new birth by water and the Spirit is your gift,
a gift none can take away;
may we grow
into the fulness of the stature of Christ.
Amen.
