Dear God,
thank you for all that is good,
for our creation and for our humanity,
for the gifts of life and of one another,
for your love which is unbounded and eternal.
for the food before us,
the family and friends beside us
and the love between us.
Amen.
Psalm 142
1 With my voice to Yahweh, I cry aloud; With my voice to Yahweh, I make supplication. 2 I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my distress before Him. 3 When my spirit was faint within me, You knew my path. In the way where I walk They have hidden a trap for me. 4 Look to the right and see; That there is no one who regards me; A way of escape has been destroyed from me; No one cares for my soul. 5 I cried out to You, O Yahweh; I said, “You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living. 6 Give heed to my cry of lamentation, For I am brought very low; Deliver me from my persecutors, For they are too strong for me. 7 Bring my soul out of prison, To give thanks to Your name; The righteous will encircle me, For You will deal bountifully with me.”

Eternal Spirit, living God,
in whom we live and move and have our being,
all that we are, have been, and shall be is known to you,
to the very secret of our hearts
and all that rises to trouble us.
Living flame burn into us,
cleansing wind, blow through us,
fountain of water, well up within us,
that we may love and praise in deed and in truth.
Amen.
