LAUDS - Morning Prayer (Breakfast)

O Lord, open our lips;
And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Opening Sentance

The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul; the precepts of the Lord are right, and rejoice the heart.. . . . .Psalm 19:7,8.

God ever reigns on high.
O come, let us worship.

Psalm 119:89-96(l)

  1. Your word O Lord is everlasting:
it is firmly fixed in the heavens.
  2. Your faithfulness endures throughout all generations:
stable as the earth you created and made to stand firm.
  3. Your ordinances stand fast to this day:
for all things are your servants.
  4. If my delight had not been in your law:
I should have perished in my affliction.
  5. I will never forget your precepts:
for by them you have given me life.
  6. I am yours O save me:
for I have studied your precepts.
  7. Though the wicked lie in wait to destroy me:
I will apply my mind to your instruction.
  8. I see that all things reach a limit:
but your commandment has no bounds.

The Armour of God

Almighty God,
grant us your wisdom and favour,
give us the grace to cast off the works of darkness
and put on the full armour of God,
now in the time of this mortal life,
Place on us the belt of truth, because you are the way,
and the truth and the life,
the breastplate of righteousness,
because we have no righteousness of our own,
but you became our righteousness on the cross.
Place on us shoes of the Gospel of peace
that we miss no opportunity to share your love with others.
Put on us the shield of faith,
that the fiery darts of the enemy do not harm us in any way.
Put on us the helmet of salvation,
that our minds be protected and renewed daily in You.
Put on us the sword of the Spirit,
    which is the word of God;
and may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
    the Love of God
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit
be with us all for ever more.
