Collect

Grant to us, merciful God,
that as James and John left their father
and all that they had
to follow your Son Jesus Christ,
so may we be ready to follow,
even unto death,
to the glory of your name.
Amen.

Prayer

Our Father,
save us from the time of trial,
and deliver us from evil.
O God,
the well-spring of life,
pour into our hearts the living water of your grace,
that refreshed by you,
we may live this day in steadfast reliance
on the strength you give;
through our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
