Prayer
Bless the Lord, whose name is to be praised,
Our Father who art in heaven,
who has given us his laws,
to show us the error of our ways,
Blessed is his son, Christ the Messiah,
who redeemed us from having broken them.
Blessed are you, O Holy Spirit,
who assists us in sinning no more,
and sustains us in the way of the Lord,
grant us wisdom and understanding this day.
Amen.
Old Testament Reading - Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication
22-23Then, as all the people watched, Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord with his hands spread out toward heaven and said, “O Lord God of Israel, there is no god like you in heaven or earth, for you are loving and kind and you keep your promises to your people if they do their best to do your will.
27“But is it possible that God would really live on earth? Why, even the skies and the highest heavens cannot contain you, much less this Temple I have built! 28And yet, O Lord my God, you have heard and answered my request: 29Please watch over this Temple night and day — this place you have promised to live in — and as I face toward the Temple and pray, whether by night or by day, please listen to me and answer my requests. 30Listen to every plea of the people of Israel whenever they face this place to pray; yes, hear in heaven where you live, and when you hear, forgive.

Please remember our Prayer Requests
We pray for all people in their daily life and work;
For our families, friends, and neighbours
and for those who are alone.
For this community,
the nation,
and the world;
For all who work for justice, freedom, and peace.
Hear us, Lord;
For your mercy is great.
Amen.
